I’ll be logging all my training on this blog.
Welcome to my training blog!
What’s it about you ask…or maybe you aint asking that! It is going to to be a log of all the training I do with the aim of getting and staying fit. I want to lose some bodyfat and would like to acheive that chiseled, athletic look…we’ll see! At 49 I’m not interested in getting a body that’s as wide as it is tall…at 5′ 5″ tall I look pretty ridiculous if I was built like a brick sh*thouse anyway!!
I’ve looked at lots of stuff off the internet, tried a few programs but have decided to follow one in particular..http://www.topfatlosstrainer.com/2009/11/12/advanced-total-body-workout/ instead of doing the bits and pieces I’ve pulled off the net! I like this site, lots of good workouts, dietary info and interesting workout reviews on there too. Too many sites I’ve visited have been been written by trainers who’s heads are stuck so far up their own arses it’s untrue but this one’s excellent if you want to lose fat, get fit and look and feel good. It’s not for you if you want that overbloated, steroidal look!!
I love doing bodyweight stuff but this workout only requires a set of dumbbells..which is good because I can’t get to a gym and I’ve got no space at home for loads of free weights! And, like many working people with young kids..your time is never your own. So, if you can do quality workouts in the limited time you have available that’s a bonus!
The biggest problem I’ve got in regards to getting fit is not my commitment to training hard, but to sorting my diet out. It doesn’t matter how hard you train, if your diet’s no good you’ll be going nowhere…so I’ll be focusing on that aspect of my training in particular.
I will be adding my stats, pics and anything else as I go along to help gauge my progress. I will be adding anything I have found useful in relation to getting fit and staying healthy in general.
If you decide to come back to my blog, maybe you can pick up some tips, bit of motivation or learn something new regarding fitness, but, I’ll also be posting stuff about my other main interests..language learning (starting Greek, improving my German) and self defence stuff. I started karate in 1975..found it great as a sport but not so useful in the real world! So if you aint interested in getting fit, maybe you can follow my struggles in trying to learn Greek, or I could point you in right direction regarding self protection..the way society’s going today I think we all need to know how to protect ourselves and our loved ones!
